What Is Site Flipping Part 2
In my earlier post what is site flipping part 1 i coverd some basics,it is time to continue with this guide..
State 2A: Test the Profitability Of Your Keyword:
This should take you about five minutes but it’s a hugely important step. Before you decide on a keyword you need to make sure that the keyword you’ve chosen leads to actual buyers and sales. There’s no sense in dominating a keyword that leads to no sales. There are other ways to make money off of keywords that make no sales, but that’s for another product. For our purposes right now we want “buyer’s keywords”.How do we verify if our keywords are “buyer’s keywords”? Here’s a simple trick you can do. First I’m going to explain the “hard way” to do it. Then I’ll explain the “easy way” with my simple trick. This is just so you’ll understand what’s going on and appreciate what the “easy way” is all about.
So here are two ways to make sure that you’ve chosen a “buyer’s keyword”.
a) The Hard Way: Type the keyword into Google. Look to the right. Are people advertising there? If so, write down what their ads say exactly.
Continue to spy on the advertisers there for a month. If they are still there, you can be quite sure they are making money placing their ads on that keyword. They pay per click, and they wouldn’t be just throwing money down the toilet for a month if the clicks on that keyword didn’t turn into sales.
b) The Easy Way: Same concept. Faster way to get your intelligence. Go to a site called http://www.spyfu.com and type in the keyword you are thinking of targeting. Look below and you will see ads. I can prove this to you if you’d like, but for now you’ll just have to take more word for it that those ads that you see are ONE MONTH OLD. Are you getting the trick now? Now that you know that those ads are a month old go back to Google, see if you see ads that are the same or very similar. If you do, it’s a winner. If you don’t it isn’t. It’s just that simple folks. Did you do it? Good. You’re ready to move on to State 3.
Stage 3: Buy a Domain Name That Contains Your Primary Keyword This is the easiest step yet. If your keyword is “simple weight loss tips”, buy simpleweightlosstips.com So go over to Name Cheap and buy that domain name for about nine bucks a year. (I just made up that keyword phrase. I have not researched it, so don’t assume it meets the qualifications I mentioned above). Let’s take a moment to explain why we are doing this.
We are going to be doing some search engine optimization (SEO) i.e. optimizing our site for the best rankings possible in Google’s results page for our primary keyword. When Google notices that your domain name is the same as the keyword this tells them that your site is probably very relevant to that keyword and Google rewards you for that in the search results for that keyword. Even if this is the only thing you do for search optimization purposes, this move alone regularly people’s sites to the first page of Google within a week! If your exact domain name is not available you can get a hyphenated version of the same
name and get similar results e.g. lose-weightfast.com.
Stage 4: Get Reseller Hosting For Your Website
Since you will be creating a site and reselling it to another person you would be very wise to get a “resellers account”. When a normal web owner sells his site to another person you can easily get caught in a web of red tape with the hosting and company that can last weeks before that site gets transferred over to new ownership. Smart site flippers, however, use a resellers hosting account. This basically means you are
your own web hosting company. You will be hosting the site you are about to create on a server that you own (sort of). Therefore there will be much less red tape when you want to transfer the site. You can get a resellers account at a very reasonable price over at Host Gator. You can also do this with the regular hosting you may have but if you go that route now but don’t complain to me if it takes a few weeks longer to get this project done. Even if you get regular hosting I think Host Gator is still probably the way to go for a beginner. I have found their support team to be available and helpful at all hours of the night.
